Kobe-based post-hardcore and shoegaze band, Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, are stopping at Charlotte to perform at Amos’ Southend during their North American Tour on October 11. The band has been around for over 20 years, fusing different motifs of rock music, more common in the west, into their own unique style. This is their first time playing at the Queen city and their first time touring in the United States since their reformation in 2015. Here they will perform to a completely new generation of fans.
Non-western bands like Mass of the Fermenting Dregs coming to Charlotte of all places represents an interesting cultural exchange. In recent years, there has been a slight increase in artists and bands from outside the borders of the United States, trickling into gigs across the city of Charlotte. Many of these talents bring a lot to the table culturally.
